Discord Slash Command FAQ Reply

Turn a Discord slash command into a helpful response without building a separate bot server. The Discord Trigger verifies the interaction, an LLM writes the reply, and the Output node posts it back as a Discord follow-up.

What this workflow does

  1. DiscordCommand receives a signed Discord interaction
  2. AnswerCommand reads the command name and options, then writes a concise reply
  3. DiscordReply returns the final text to the person who invoked the command

Use cases

  • Internal documentation and policy FAQs
  • Team command helpers such as /deploy-help or /oncall
  • Lightweight support replies inside a community server

Setup

Create a Discord Trigger credential with your application's public key, select it on DiscordCommand, and register the generated Interactions URL in the Discord Developer Portal. Add an LLM credential to AnswerCommand, then tailor its system instruction to the knowledge you want it to use.

Notes

Discord receives a deferred acknowledgement immediately. The Output node's message is posted afterward as the interaction follow-up. Use the regular Discord node as well only when you also need a separate channel notification.
